I'm thinking about Splashing Safari tomorrow. It's supposed to be hot and hardly anybody will be there since most are still in school.

Little known (or cared about) facts about me for Michelle and the other 2 people who read my blog:
1. My skin hates me. Ever since I was little I have had weird issues with my skin. I remember having something called Pityriasis Rosea when I was a kid which is no big deal but weird. I am also allergic to several things like deodorant, benzoyl peroxide (my face turns a puffy red), band-aids (again puffy red), neosporin (sores get worse), hair spray, body oils with fragrance, some moisturizers, a big rubber ball I had when I was kid, and some other stuff I haven't identified that just gives me bumps. Shaving my legs is really hard on my skin so I avoid it whenever possible. I get poison ivy easily. I burn easily. I'm covered in moles and freckles. I've also had malignant melanoma, an atypical mole and a dermatafibroma. 2. I really want to go back to school someday. I have a degree in Elementary Education and used it one year as a math teacher. I enjoyed the algebra but hated the kids. I think I would like to go back and get a nursing degree since I used to want to be a surgeon. It will have to wait though. 3. Grey is my favorite color. I know that is an odd favorite but I could surround myself in it and be quite content. 4. I was in a 4-H Fair Queen contest in high school. Dumbest thing I ever did. Of course I didn't win. I'm glad for that part. What was I thinking? 5. I played fast-pitch softball in high school. I was terrible. I didn't know I needed glasses until the summer after graduation. That doesn't explain all of the suck. I still like to talk baseball and have strong opinions about batting average, RBI's and bunting. 6. I wanted to join the military when I was 19 but my dad didn't want me to so I didn't. 7. I am socially dysfunctional. I'm paranoid, shy and inarticulate. I rarely talk on the phone. I very rarely initiate a conversation or invite someone to do something with me. I over analyze every word during and after social interaction. (I'll analyze this post for a long time.) I offend others easily with what I say because I'm not easily offended. I just don't see what the big deal is most of the time. Bonus: I have a weird hatred of the following: holidays, traditions, greeting cards, most gifts, nail polish, dresses, shopping, romantic comedies, jewelry, being in charge of large groups of kids, westerns, snoring, fishing, hunting, poetry, Hardee's commercials, aerobics, country music, hymns with words I don't use, trinkets (almost anything that sits around with no real purpose), dolls of any kind including bobble heads, glitter, fancy dresses on babies, inefficiency, grammar and spelling errors (I forgive type-o's), smoking, abstract art and thick southern accents (but I try to let that go). Summer Fun?
School's out next week...finally. I plan on filling this summer to the brim. The third trimester is a great time as far as the anticipation and the closeness that already starts developing with the baby (the bigness and movement). But it can also be mentally and emotionally draining (the waiting and the bigness), so I (and Angela) need to keep busy this summer. I also want to have as much time and fun with Abby and Luke before I go into hiding with Willow. So I've got lots of ideas but no exact dates yet as most are dependent on the weather and other things. I would like to do about 3 or 4 activities a week. I'd also like to see my friends through the summer too. So I'm going to regularly post some of the things I plan on doing that I would love some company on. I figure it's easier than making a bunch of phone calls until someone says yes. It would be nice to have some relatively large groups do some of these things together. This seems like a good way to get it out there (if people read my blog). (Use bloglines so you don't have to check everyday.) Here are some of my ideas: Holiday World (I have season passes this year and I know that most of you probably don't but I'm throwing it out there anyways.) Mesker Zoo Koch Children's Museum Public pools Kids' World Pump It Up Fortress of Fun (or Kids' Kingdom) Bowling Movies Lunch by the river I feel like I'm forgetting a few of my ideas. I'll fix it later. Posted by: Laura @ 5/15/2007 06:59:00 PM
