I saw my surgeon yesterday for a checkup. I asked him what would have happened if we hadn't done anything about the melanoma. He said I would have died in about 2 years. Some people watch unusual moles longer than that. There's just not enough time to "keep an eye on it". Biopsies don't hurt. And if the malignancy is deeper than .75 mm (that's less than one millimeter, picture that) you have a whole lot more crap to go through. Get checked.
